Brother and sister team Mikhayel and Alia Malouf have loved participating in the Big Battery Hunt! After signing up, they immediately put themselves to work creating collection tubs for batteries to put in their family members' offices, their local music school, and their local bookstore and put the word out with their football team! Determined to collect as many batteries as possible, Alia and Mikhayel drew and photocopied flyers and went around our neighborhood posting them through the door. We've come home on several occasions to happily find a bag of batteries dropped off by a neighbor. They have talked the ears off of anyone who will listen about how important it is to save batteries from going into landfills and poisoning our earth. They've collected hundreds of batteries in the past few months. They have really enjoyed both being part of the competition and feeling actively engaged in reducing pollution.
